Changes to MyQuote and MyApply (formerly CALQ and WriteAway)

What's changing

From 9 April 2018 you'll see significant improvements to our quoting and application systems. MyApply (formerly WriteAway) uses leading technology combined with more sophisticated, intuitive rules to ensure you ask the right questions to the right people at the right time. You'll also enjoy plain English descriptions and tailored personal statements. The new-look MyQuote (formerly CALQ) includes more powerful and flexible search capability, a new layout that shows the 15% rollover rebate, and a clean and simple design that makes your experience more enjoyable.

Benefits for you

All of the changes are designed to provide you with a smarter, simpler and more streamlined quote and application experience.

The aim is to collect the right information from your client, using smart technology and intelligent questions (no questions about working underwater to an accountant!). This all adds up to a better, more meaningful conversation between you and your clients.


What do you need to do

You will notice when you log in, that this is now a 2-step process. After clicking on the yellow 'Adviser Portal Log In' button you will then be prompted for your username and password.

Your login details and the way you start to complete a quote or application remain the same (click MyQuote or MyApply from the adviser site), so you should be able to use the new systems from 9 April, 2018. 

TIP: To ensure you benefit from this new enhancement, make sure you clear your cache before you next log in to the CommInsure Adviser Site. Click on your preferred browser below to find instructions to clear your cache and history:

Both MyQuote and MyApply are designed to be simple and very user-friendly so we suggest you work through the online systems in the same way you normally would. If you have any questions, either login to the secure  adviser site and take a look at the short online e-learning modules  on the home page, download the FAQs or call your BDM or State office

Please note: you are still capturing the same information from your client, it's just done in a simpler, more logical and helpful way. 




Quotes, applications and tele-interviews

As previously communicated, all online applications not submitted by 6pm, 6 April 2018 have now expired. However all online applications submitted before 6pm on that date will continue to completion and are not affected by the system changes.  

All quotes saved in MyQuote (formerly CALQ) carry over to the new system, you just need to click the 'Calculate' button to be able to progress these.

The tele-interview service resumes as usual on 9 April 2018, all you need to do is select your preferences in the new look MyApply when prompted.

Please note: A new SPDS will apply from launch and be available from the adviser website.

Positive changes to medical and financial requirements

What's changing

Effective from 29 January 2018, the age/cover limits and requirements (beyond the Personal Statement) for medical and financial underwriting have changed. These changes can be viewed here.

Benefits for you

Overall the changes will result in more applications being accepted with only the Personal Statement, and fewer medical and financial requirements.

What do you need to do

From 9 April 2018, these improvements will be reflected in MyApply so you don't need to do anything differently. You'll be prompted for all necessary medical or financial documentation automatically.

If you were following a different process between 29 January 2018 and 9 April 2018 this has been replaced by the update to MyApply above, and you will no longer be contacted by underwriting explaining requirements.

5/4/3/2/1 Discount increased to 10/8/6/4/2

What's changing

From 1 January 2018 the discount of 5/4/3/2/1 was increased to 10/8/6/4/2, and was an automatic inbuilt feature of ALL new business quotes.

The discount applies over five years; year one, 10 per cent, reducing by 2 per cent each year, over the first five years of your client's policy. Previously, the 5/4/3/2/1 discount was selected by you, however as this is inbuilt and is now automatically applied, the discount is no longer visible within MyQuote as a selection.

Benefits for you

Affordability can play a major part of discussions with clients. This improvement to the discount should help with that conversation.

What do you need to do

Nothing. The doubled discount will automatically be applied to quotes from 1 January 2018. You do not need to select this as a 'Policy Option'.
